Um das frisch erschienene Album „Portals” nicht nur auf Platte zu genießen, sondern auch einen Eindruck von THE VINTAGE CARAVAN live zu bekommen, machten wir uns am 1. Oktober 2025 auf den Weg ins Musiktheater Piano nach Dortmund. Die Location ist für ihren Jugendstil-Charme im Vintage-Look bekannt und passte optisch hervorragend zum angekündigten Abendprogramm.
Nach zwei Vorbands – Velvet Rush, eine Hard-Rock-Band aus den 70ern aus Hamburg, und Final Stair, eine Modern-Rock-Formation aus Berlin – betraten die Isländer gegen 21 Uhr die Bühne und eröffneten ihr Set mit dem Intro des neuen Albums. Im Publikum waren schon zahlreiche Band-Shirts zu sehen – die treue Fanbase war also definitiv vertreten.
Mit perfekt auf Sound und Vibe abgestimmten Outfits zogen The Vintage Caravan die Menge vom ersten Ton an in ihren Bann. Die Setlist bot eine ausgewogene Mischung aus Songs der mittlerweile fast 20-jährigen Bandgeschichte, ergänzt durch mehrere Stücke von „Portals“. Besonders „Current” entfaltete live eine enorme Wirkung und wurde zum Highlight des Abends.
Am Ende stand ein rundes Konzert, das viele strahlende Gesichter im Saal zurückließ.

To enjoy the newly released album Portals not only on record but also to experience THE VINTAGE CARAVAN live, we went to the Musiktheater Piano in Dortmund on October 1, 2025. The venue is renowned for its Art Nouveau charm and vintage aesthetic, providing the perfect visual backdrop for the evening’s program.
After two opening acts—Velvet Rush, a hard rock band from Hamburg in the ’70s, and Final Stair, a modern rock band from Berlin—the Icelandic band took the stage around 9 p.m. and opened their set with the intro to the new album. There were already numerous band shirts in the audience—the loyal fan base was definitely represented.
With outfits perfectly matching the sound and vibe, The Vintage Caravan captivated the crowd from the first note. The setlist offered a balanced mix of songs from the band’s nearly 20-year history, supplemented by several tracks from Portals. „Current“ in particular had an enormous live impact and became the highlight of the evening.
The result was a well-rounded concert that left many smiling faces in the audience.
